What is Suzaku and Seiryuu?
The Suzaku Seishi are 7 (star, or 'celestial') warriors named after the seven constellations of the southern sky. Tamahome, Nuriko, Tasuki, Mitsukake, Chichiri, Chirico, and Hotohori. Altogether, they are ruled by the God Suzaku, the mythical red Chinese phoenix. Each Seishi (Literally "Star Warrior", a combination of the words "Sei" for "Star" and "Senshi" for "Warrior") has a different symbol on his or her (All 'his' in the case of the Suzaku Seishi) body.

Seiryuu is the animal guardian of the east, the country Kutou. Appearing in the form of a blue dragon, he, like the other gods, can grant three wishes to the one who summons him. Also like the other gods, that one must be a virgin priestess, or a "miko." Seiryuu has seven guardians, "shichi seishi," who protect the miko. They are: Nakago, Suboshi, Amiboshi, Tomo, Soi, Ashitare and Miboshi.
Seiryuu is the god of war, water, and rain. He can appear in the form of a man with long fins down the side of his head in place of ears. Unlike Suzaku, Genbu, or Byakko, Seiryuu shows no concern for the fate of his seishi. He is portrayed as extremely warlike and terrifying, delighting in pain. It can be gathered from the events in Fushigi Yuugi that this is not the first time Kutou has gone up in arms against the other three nations.
